More than just three Rivers and a Creek.

WETLANDS
Important because they:
- recharge groundwater that feed our wells
- provide natural filtering of water therefore reducing pollutants
- provide essential habitat for wildlife and migratory birds
- capture and store carbon from the atmosphere
COULTERVILLE WETLAND - a Provincially Significant Wetland
- largest wetland in the immediate area
- contains 36 significant species and more than 100 other spieces
- provides permanent water flow to the Credit River along tow paths, including east into the Credit River through Osprey Valley Golf Course
TRIBUTARIES
Important because they:
- collect water from smaller streams, rain runoff and winter snowmelt, delivering the water to the main rivers and ensuring they are always flowing
- transport sediment and organic matter that supply nutrients and food for the main rivers' ecological processes
CONNECTED TO THE COULTERVILLE WETLAND
Tributary 1:
- from the weland over to and down Mississauga Road
- also captures spring runoff
- drops into the Recharge Kettle above Charleston Side Road and recharges the shallow aquifer
Tributaries 4&5:
- #5 runs from the wetland
- it joins #4 on the east side of Main Street then runs through Osprey Valley Golf Course and flows into the Credit River
Tributary 8:
- from the wetland under then down Mississauga Road and across Charleston to Winston Churchill Road
- delivers water, sediment and organic material to the West Credit River
