The process for evaluating new applications for gravel mining is unfair. The province of Ontario abandons resident groups to defend their community, on their own, against multinational companies like Votorantim Cimentos.

We need the Ontario Government to intervene directly. One option is to designate the proposed Votorantim quarry proposal for an Environmental Assessment.

An Environment Assessment provides a higher standard of scrutiny of applications and ensures accountability from our elected officials for these important decisions.

You can help by sending our letter demanding that Sylvia Jones, Dufferin-Caledon MPP, ask the Ontario government to designate the proposed Votorantim quarry proposal for an Environmental Assessment.

One click and the letter will go to your local MPP as well. Let’s spread the word!

Your email opposition will be sent to Sylvia Jones(Deputy Premier and MPP for Dufferin-Caledon), Doug Ford (Premier), Andrea Khanjin (Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks), (Graydon Smith (Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry), and your local MPP.
