The Credit River near Charleston S/R and Main Street, Caledon
Water renewal occurs through a natural system driven by the sun, the Hydrologic Cycle.

Evapotranspiration: The sun warms the Credit River, nearby wetlands, soil, and vegetation, causing water to rise as vapour.
Condensation: Water vapour cools and forms clouds as it rises.
Precipitation: Rain and snow fall onto the land as Surface water.
Infiltration: Some of this water seeps into the soil, helping to replenish Groundwater.
Tributaries, springs and seeps then help move the surface water and groundwater towards the Credit River.
